Work in Progress The Vaudeville ExperienceLadies and Gentlemen your attention please! Do you know this man? Have you seen his daily videos? Are you wondering what is he creating in that room? Well, wonder no more, come see Nicholas Kavanagh as he dives headlong into Vaudeville. This work-in-progress showing is a celebration of the Vaudeville era (early 1880s to the 1930s) â€" a time when audiences could see quality acts at playhouses on every street corner of New York City and beyond. These live shows drew people from all walks of life and all ages. Vaudeville showcased the big-time stars like: Buster Keaton, the Marx Brothers, Harry Houdini, Marie Dressler, and Eva Tanguay. It was a melting pot of creativity; performers from many countries found themselves living in the new world and sharing their traditional performances with a much wider audience. There were circus acts, comedy acts, singers, dancers, even freak-show acts. "The Vaudeville Experience" is a small taster of a new street theatre show Nicholas is creating with his company Curious State. The performance will be 25 minutes (approx.) followed by a short Q&A session.
