The Gallery Doodle is back! Join us in a week full of creativity during this year’s SprÓg festival by taking pen, crayon and marker to wall in our Gallery Space

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About: Shona Shirley MacDonald

This year’s Gallery Doodle has been created by award-winning children’s book illustrator and author Shona Shirley MacDonald! Based in the Gaeltacht of the Déise, her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Bratislava Illustration Biennial. Her books include The Pooka Party, and The Moon Spun Round by W. B. Yeats (editor Noreen Doody), Cluasa Capaill ar an Rí (scríobhneoir Bridget Bhreathnach). Most recently she illustrated Girls Who Slay Monsters, (writer Ellen Ryan) which won the Children’s (Senior) An Post Book of the Year Award 2022.

Doodle Wall/Baile Sceitse

This year the SprÓg theme is the Natural World, and this year’s artist Shona Shirley Macdonald has focused on different habitats including the ocean, the forest, and even the garden which is home to a fantastic array of life.

But this is only the start, it’s not complete without your own drawings, so come along and use your imagination to help create a fantastic doodle wall buzzing with life.

This event is open to people of all ages, materials will be provided on-site for you to let your creativity run wild!

As always access to the Doodle Wall is FREE, drop on down to us Tuesdays-Saturdays from 11 am to 5:30 pm.
