Artist Bio: Diane Murphy is part of the CALMAST team in WIT and is passionate about spreading a positive image of maths to the students she meets. Calmast is Waterford Institute of Technology’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) Engagement Centre. Established in 2003 to promote STEM, Calmast now engages with an annual audience of about 30,000 in counties Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Tipperary and Carlow. In addition to running STEM activities across the Southeast, Calmast coordinates Maths Week Ireland, the all-island festival celebrating maths and its applications. Maths Week Ireland has now grown to be the biggest maths festival of its kind in the world with over 400,000 taking part in 2019.
