I’m a multidisciplinary artist from Wexford, specialising in ceramics and sculpture. I’m currently a resident artist, technician and teacher at The Kiln Rooms; London. My work responds to taboo subjects in Irish culture such as our suicide rates. I’m a process driven artist that uses humour to make my work palatable. I’m a member of the international collective Boys Don’t Cry, our aim is to highlight the issue of men’s mental health within the creative industry, and show how having a creative outlet can help combat the upsurge of male suicide.

Ceramics is a tool that has helped historians piece together the daily lives of past civilizations. I view my work as contemporary, visual storytelling. Celebrating triumphs whilst reprimanding failures, in hopes of a more harmonious future. I push the boundaries of my craft, manipulating the cultural and domestic history of clay; reflecting the zeitgeist of a given moment. I document my response to the world around me in notebooks, through writing, illustrations and symbols. These are later translated to ceramic surfaces.

I run a workshop entitled BADBEASTS which is targeted at all boys schools. BADBEASTS explores the links between creativity and mental health, and aims to deconstruct the idealised version of masculinity instilled in young men by their peers.
