Announcing a brilliant new dance project for Traces Dance Ensemble members, every Saturday based in the Garter Lane Theatre, O Connell St. Waterford
‘MAKE IT/STAGE IT’.
Saturday 2nd Oct – Dec 12th, 10:30am-12:30
This will be a dance performance project like no other! Taking place in conjunction with the garter lane theatre, focussing on developing ideas around making their own new dances/choreographies plus introducing Traces members to the ‘stagecraft elements’ needed to support choreographic ideas to stage it. In classes we will be looking at technical & production skills in the areas of lighting, cueing, sound scapes, props, costumes, make-up, set design, video projection as well as making work for social media.
The project builds upon the work started in autumn 2019, about Traces developing self-autonomous skills i.e. letting our young dancers in the ensemble make decisions for themselves about their work and building knowledge and confidence around this.
Traces will be working with the Dance Artist in Residence, Dee Grant as well as a host of guest tutors.
Costs for the entire 10 wk. block will be €10 per session/€100 for block. Members can book their weekly workshops on Garter Lane Booking Link (please insert)
This project is kindly supported by an Arts Practice Grant 2020 from the Arts Office, Waterford City & County Council, the Community Education, WWETB & DSI Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch.
