I’m Just a Girl… What the f**k would I know?
Presented by Waterford Youth Arts & Garter Lane Arts Centre
Aug 17th -20th
Princess Hope is born into a fairytale world, but some fairy tales are more complicated than others…
Trapped in a world where boys tell her girls can’t be bus drivers cos they’ll crash the bus while doing their makeup, the elders won’t let her spend her own wealth how she wants to and she’s told wicked witches are out to get her, Hope unexpectedly finds herself on a quest to destroy The Great Barrier, the fairytale version of the glass ceiling.
Written by Liam Meagher with Waterford Youth Arts members this fantastical adventure is crammed with Cyclops, Purple Whatchamacallits, a Kangorillapig, a ‘Wise Old Man’ and a Ring-tailed-rhino-budgie, just to mention a few of the interesting characters we meet along the way.
A comedy whirlwind of 40+ characters played by 20 young actors asking the question:
Why the f**k are we still here when it comes to equality for women?
Directed by Deirdre Molloy who previously directed The Pilgrimage which transferred to the Royal National Theatre, London for Waterford Youth Arts, I’m Just a Girl… What the f**k would I know? plays in Garter Lane Arts Centre from August 17th to 20th.
A not to be missed production, where young people from all backgrounds come together to bring their own brand of magic to the Garter Lane stage…
