BrokenCrow are developing a new theatre piece Witch of Winter for children aged 8 and up. They are very excited to share extracts and ideas with young audiences and their families at SprÓg 2024.
A group of artists and performers will be working together during the week of SprÓg exploring puppetry, performance, music, dance, lighting and props to find ways to present nature, weather and wildness on stage. Lead by Deirdre Dwyer, Witch of Winter is based on the Irish myth of The Cailleach, or Witch of Winter. The Cailleach is associated with the creation of the rugged Irish landscape and with the weather, especially storms.
BrokenCrow will present 20 minutes of the work and will guide the audience through a feedback session finding out: What worked? What struck them? What was challenging? What they understood? What they liked or didn’t like.
