Art at Garter Lane

See below for articles about our current artists in residence.

Information about our studio artists is coming soon.

Garter Lane Arts Centre is a genuinely thriving and busy working environment.

First opened in 1984 and is now 40 yrs in existence.

Here artists engaged with the centre, whether through their own professional development trajectory, or on residency, or having been commissioned, frequently mix and have access to an environment where knowledge transfer between staff/arts workers and artists flows freely.

Broadly speaking the centre pursues Residencies in Dance, Theatre and Film. These residencies are supported through generous funding from the Arts Council & WC&CC. Artists are regularly engaged by the arts centre through funding from, but not exclusive to, Creative Waterford, WCQ, Sanofi, Waterford Area Partnership, The ETB.

Garter lane Arts Centre is a member of Theatre Forum.
