Bursary Recipient Katie Honan

Through the support of an Arts Council Bursary, actor and writer Katie Honan will be joining us over the coming months in Garter Lane, as she develops her movement practice as a theatre maker through the lens of neuroscience. Katie will work in our dance studio and bespoke arts spaces in her research & practical experimentation. She aims to advance her kinaesthetic ability in character creation — to evolve a unique physical language in her future work.

Katie premiered her debut play as writer How To Fall Flat On Your Face at Garter Lane Arts Centre in 2022, which hit the stage again at the end of last year in Dublin’s Project Arts Centre.
How To Fall Flat On Your Face was picked out in RTÉ Arena ‘The Best of Theatre 2023’ and The Arts Review ‘The Year That Was 2023’.

My local arts centre is a bubbling pot of creativity and I can’t wait to get back into their inspiring space on O’Connell Street in 2024 – the support of Garter Lane is invaluable in my development as an artist” ~  Katie Honan
