Colm Summers – director, playwright and artistic director
Colm is an Irish director for theatre, opera and film based between New York and Dublin. He is committed to creating new audiences for theatre and to making work which bridges the access gap from working communities to edge-of-your-seat productions.
Colm presented a new work ‘Purgatory After Yeats‘ in A Little Room in 2022. Featuring a Waterford cast working with Colm and associated colleagues from the US over an intense two-week period bringing his play to life for an audience. Centered around the coming-of-age trials and tribulations of one west Waterford boy, his father and their dog the sometimes hilarious and often moving, work was extremely well received by a fully invested audience. Now supported further with a Next Generation Award Colm will return to Garter Lane in late summer 2024 to fully immerse in continued professional development and practice.
More on his residency detail will be announced later in the year.
