YIPPEEE-KI-YAY movie lovers!

Get ready for the ultimate adrenaline-pumping thrill ride of the year, the classic Christmas action thriller Die Hard is coming to the screen at Garter Lane!

First released released in 1988 and directed by John McTiernan, Die Hard follows the story of New York cop John McClane, played by Bruce Willis, who finds himself in a high-stakes situation on Christmas Eve after travelling to Los Angeles to reconcile with his estranged wife, Holly (Bonnie Bedelia), at her workplace Nakatomi Plaza. However, their reunion is interrupted by a group of heavily armed terrorists led by the charismatic Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman).

Locked inside the skyscraper, McClane becomes the only hope for the hostages and must use his wit, resourcefulness and his combat skills to thwart Gruber’s plans. Out-manned, out-gunned and ill-equipped for the task at hand, McClane calls in the help of a local beat cop in his crusade against Gruber and a tense cat-and-mouse game ensues, filled with explosive action, memorable one-liners and clever improvisations.

Die Hard is unequivocally a Christmas film, despite any naysayers. The action-packed thriller, set during a Christmas party in Nakatomi Plaza, is a festive rollercoaster of explosions, one-liners and holiday cheer, albeit somewhat unconventional. John McClane’s heroic efforts to save his wife and the celebrations make it a yuletide classic, proving that nothing says “Merry Christmas” quite like Bruce Willis taking down terrorists in a Santa hat. It’s the festive gift that keeps on giving, explosions, laughter and a reminder that Christmas can survive even the toughest of situations.
