Inspired by a case from Pauline Guéna’s book of her time with the Criminal Investigation Department in 2016: a young woman is murdered in her quiet mountain village. But what starts as an investigation into the victim’s life and a shocking crime soon turns into a haunting obsession for newly promoted Detective Yohan Vivès and his team as the killer continues to evade them…

From acclaimed French director Dominik Moll this is a raw, powerful police drama, layered with social topics addressing some fundamental issues around human behaviour, endemic misogyny and male violence towards women, which is elevated by some stellar performances from the entire cast. A solid, affecting experience that will stay with the viewer long after it’s over.

Starring Bastien Bouillon, Bouli Lanners, Anouk Grinberg, Mouna Soualem and Pauline Serieys.

Reviews
This taut and piercing thriller is one of Moll’s stronger works to date, using a genre template to delve into issues of violence, gender and policing in contemporary France.”
Jordan Mintzer, Hollywood Reporter

“★★★★ a study of what it means not to know, not to solve, not to find the eternal verities of narrative and the sense of an ending…it’s a brutally engrossing drama.’’
Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
