A Little Room presents The Waiting by Susie Lamb

Susie has worked as a performer in theatre for 25 years and also works across disciplines of dance, writing and singing. She lives in Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny but works all over Ireland. She is delighted to have the support of A Little Room this month to develop The Waiting.

The Artlinks professional development grant has allowed her to invite designer Deirdre Dwyer and Kilkenny based dramaturg and director Jeffrey Gormly to collaborate with her during her time in A Little Room. Most recently, in A little Room she took part in a rehearsed reading of Gillian Grattan’s play Gúna.

The Waiting, which will be performed in Project Theatre, Dublin, in February 2025, is an immersive performance installation fusing spoken word, original piano composition and movement.
Though the story of a princess, a woman explores the tenuous narrative and creative space between past and present.

Susie graduated from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2000 and has acted in most major theatres in Ireland since then, as well as in film, TV and radio drama. Fluent in Irish, she has worked in Irish language animation voice over since 2000. Recent TV and film credits include Roise agus Frank and Redemption.

Recent theatre credits include The Local (Asylum Theatre production/Once off Productions) in the Kilkenny Arts festival 2023 and Romeo and Juliet (Mill Theatre, 2023)
She also writes and creates her own performance work which integrates Theatre, dance, text and singing. Her solo Show Horae was performed in The Complex, Dublin 2017.

NB: Please be aware that this performance contains brief descriptions of violence.
