Targets & Objectives

Garter Lane Arts Centre 1st opened in 1984 and operates over two buildings in the heart of
Waterford City’s O’Connell St, 5 & 22a respectively.

The centre sees over 35,000 visitors annually who participate and engage with a full year round
multidisciplinary programme, including but not exclusive to Theatre, Dance, Music and cinematic
presentation. Educational workshops, events, talks and screenings. Theatre and Dance residencies.
Visual arts exhibitions, talks and professional development programming. Bespoke Children’s arts

To this end the Garter Lane Arts Centre CLG is committed to taking the following action;

– To achieve sound environmental practices across our entire operation
– To comply fully with all relevant legislation
– To minimise our waste and reduce our water consumption where possible
– To reduce, Reuse, Recycle the resources consumed by our business wherever practical
– To invite our customers,suppliers and contractorsto participate in our effortsto protect the
environment
– To provide all employees with the training and resources required to meet our objectives
– To openly communicate our policies and practicesto interested parties
– To monitor and record our environmental impacts on a regular basis and compare our
performance with our policies, objectives and targets”
– To support the sustainability endeavours of artists producers and promoters who are
presenting in our venue(s)
– To make all our resident artists aware of our aims in respect of our sustainability goals
