Rachel Ní Bhraonáin is currently teaching a weekly adult dance class here at Garter Lane Arts Centre.
It’s an open level class, beginners are welcome, that runs every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm til 7:45pm in the Garter Lane Studio Building and is just €10 per class.
This is a class for adults with a love for movement. The class is based on contemporary dance styles, which means it involves using your whole body to dance and express yourself. It’s light-hearted and very free. No Experience necessary. This is not a strict technique class and it’s a great way to get exercise. They are often sweating by the end of class!
Every class involves a warmup, learning a new move (or two) and then learning a short sequence of movements to a fun song, so that we can really get our bodies flowing.
Expect to stretch, strengthen, laugh, meet new like-minded people, flow, push yourself a little, connect with your body, de-stress and feel creative.
What to Wear:
Loose comfortable clothes, long trousers/leggings and socks are recommended.
What to Bring:
A bottle of water, an extra layer for colder evenings and if you find your knees need cushioning (in a yoga class for example), then kneepads can be useful on occasion.
