Waterford Film for All Presents – Tony

1975. After lying to his parents about a writing scholarship, 19-year-old Anthony ‘Tony’ Bourdain instead decides to spend his summer in Cape Cod in pursuit of Nancy, a classmate he has a crush on. Brash and broke, Tony wrangles a dishwashing job in a local seafood restaurant run by a talented Brazilian chef. He is taken under the chef’s wing and develops a love for cooking, but also gets drawn into the party-heady lifestyle of his kitchen colleagues.

Matt Johnson directs this suitably lively biopic focused on the early career of the late chef, food writer and documentarian Anthony Bourdain. This is a funny, colourful and unruly coming-of-age story about one of recent history’s most beloved foodies.
