“Shchedryk” is a historical drama that takes place in Ivano-Frankivsk during the Second World War, where three families – Polish, Ukrainian, and Jewish – share a large house in the city of Stanislaviv.
The families must band together to survive when their peaceful and neighbourly existence is shattered by the occupation. The famous Carol of the Bells adapted from a popular and beloved Ukrainian folk melody that turned 100-years-old in 2022, becomes a symbol of goodness and light for families and keeps the Christmas spirit alive even in the hardest times.
