This Cruinniú na nÓg Blast will team up with Garter Lane Arts Centre to bring new energy to young people’s wardrobes. With a DIY ethos, bold prints and experimental fashion. This collaboration will consist of 2 events. One second-hand clothes swap & fashion design event, and one upcycling event. Both these workshops are for teenagers aged 13-17.
Workshop 1 (2.5 hours) 30th May
Young people will bring or acquire new drip to blast. The clothes will be brought to the Cruinniú Blast HQ to begin designing the upcycle. This will involve sketching, fabric samples and gathering materials.
Workshop 2 (3-4 hours) June 6th
This workshop will focus on the upcycling process, sewing, screen printing, fabric painting, adding buttons/ buckles and changing the silhouette of clothes.
