David Hennessy Stage School is excited to bring their Summer showing of The Wizard of Oz to the Garter Lane Theatre!
The Wizard of Oz musical tells the story of Dorothy Gale, a young girl from Kansas who is swept away by a tornado to the magical Land of Oz. Separated from her home and family, Dorothy begins a journey to the Emerald City in hopes that the mysterious Wizard of Oz can help her return home. Along the Yellow Brick Road, Dorothy befriends three memorable companions: the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, together they face dangers created by the Wicked Witch of the West while discovering friendship, bravery, compassion, and self-confidence. After many adventures, Dorothy learns that the qualities her friends wanted were already inside them all along. In the end, she realizes that “there’s no place like home” and returns to Kansas with a new appreciation for her family and life.
