Queer Vision is an international LGBTQIA+ film festival run by Pride of the Déise, taking place at Garter Lane Arts Centre in Waterford on 6th and 7th February 2026.

The festival offers a dedicated platform for queer filmmakers from Ireland and across the globe. A core feature is its celebration of Irish filmmakers and Irish language productions, showcased alongside outstanding work from the international queer cinema community. This year, submissions have already been received from over 20 countries, reflecting the festival’s growing reach and reputation. (Full Programme Listing Below)

Queer Vision is more than just screenings. Over the weekend, attendees can look forward to networking opportunities and panel discussions, all provided with the support of Screen Waterford. It’s a chance for filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences to connect, learn and celebrate queer storytelling together. Details of these events to follow.

The festival accepts short films only, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes. There are five award categories: Best Overall Production, Best LGBTQIA+ Representation, Best Irish Language Production, Best Irish Production, and the Audience Award.

Whether you’re a filmmaker looking for a platform to share your work or a film lover eager to discover fresh queer voices, Queer Vision has something for you.

The complete Festival Ticket is €30 per person – includes all 3 x events across the festival run.

Individual Events are €12 each.
