A Little Room presents The Dissonance Quintet by Conor Nolan – a play in progress reading

A gathering of seemingly unconnected people observe the defenestration of a person.

Riley, preceded by a library stool, flies through the air—having apparently crashed through a third-storey library window. She is impaled on one of the stool’s legs after it lands on her Vespa below.

A group of five seemingly unconnected people in the immediate vicinity witness the event, and four of them record it on their phones.

As Riley hovers between life and death, by chance, a partner of one of the witnesses rushes to his aid. Despite her fiancé’s insistence to leave Riley alone, she assesses the injuries and calls it in to her hospital.

The defenestration instantly goes up on a private chat group and, within an hour, has millions of views on Snapchat, Telegram, Facebook, and YouTube.

But the five content creators appear distracted and detached from the awful event—almost disappointed, or perhaps worried about the consequences, whatever they may be.
