A Little Room presents Drawing on Disaster
Drawing on Disaster [Working Title] is a work-in-progress documentary film that explores the intersection of art-making and activism in the context of the current and historical Israeli occupation of Palestine. It is a collaboration between director Eoin Dalton and cinematographer Sean Finnegan. It looks at the work of artists and arts facilitators based in Ireland and Palestine, asking how their local activities contribute to broader questions of social and political justice. Children’s stories, and creative work with children, are central to the film, as are Palestinian voices and experiences.
Eoin Dalton is a TV editor and documentary film-maker from Tramore, Waterford. He developed a passion for film while working in youth projects over 14 years in Wexford and Waterford, devising and facilitating short films with groups of young people based on their lived experience.
In 2023 he completed the Ard Dioplóma i Léiriú Teilifíse agus na Meán Digiteach in SETU Waterford/ Nemeton TV. His 2023 short film ‘Seinnteoir Sráide’, an intimate portrait of Waterford city busker Paul Dillon, was shortlisted at Fastnet Film Festival and was nominated for the Consulate of Ireland award at Chicago Irish Film Festival. He currently works as an editor with Nemeton TV in An Rinn in Gaeltacht na nDéise.
