For nearly two decades, Toronto musical duo Nirvanna the Band (Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol, playing exaggerated versions of themselves) have dreamed of only one thing:playing the local Rivoli theatre. After countless failed schemes aimed at grabbing a headliner slot, Jay has finally had enough and is giving up hope. Matt, however, has one final harebrained idea: pretend to be time travellers. But his plan is more effective than expected,and the duo end up transported back to 2008.

This feature-length revival of a cult comedy web series is an absolute treat for fans and newcomers alike. Silly, imaginative and made with proudly guerilla techniques, this is one of the freshest and funniest comedy films of recent times.
